Bucharest, 25 October 2021 - The Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) joins, from 25 to 31 October 2021, for the fifth consecutive year, the approaches initiated by IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions) to celebrate in Romania “World Investor Week - WIW”.
This concept was launched by IOSCO to raise public awareness of the need for financial education, in the context of a changing financial market and increasingly risk-based behaviour.
FSA’s active contribution to WIW 2021 is the organization of educational events, the development and launch of new information materials for the general public to raise awareness of the importance of acquiring capital-specific financial concepts.
Because of the situation generated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the recommendations of social distancing, as well as following the restrictions imposed by the authorities, the events will be held online.
WIW is opened by FSA and the Bucharest Stock Exchange, with the participation of several high school students, who will ring the opening bell of the trading session and who will participate in an interactive online seminar. Within WIW, a series of actions are then scheduled, which will be organized both at the level of pre-university and university education, and at the level of the general public.
Events organized by FSA under the auspices of WIW
The Institute of Financial Studies also joins FSA in the approach, and will organize within WIW 2021 a series of seminars in collaboration with FSA, as well as the Conference “Scientific research in the financial field. Challenges and solutions”.
More details about the actions taken by FSA on the occasion of WIW can be found on the FSA website www.asfromania.ro/edu/.
